Responsibilities of a Cashier include:

• Entering all sales into the cash register to ensure that all purchases are accurately recorded.
• Making change, accepting declining balance cards, and other acceptable forms of payment, and issues receipts to customers.
• Following standard procedures for issuing cash refunds.
• Performing sales transactions in a reasonable and timely fashion.
• Interacting with customers and resolving customer complaints in a friendly and service oriented manner
• Responsible for all assigned change funds and cash receipts ensuring that cash drawer is in compliance with overage/shortage standards.
• Observing customer purchases in the cafe line and to differentiate between standard portions.
• May be required to replenish coffee, and clean beverage areas.
• May be required to replenish condiments, beverages and general supplies while maintaining cleanliness of service areas.
• May be required to fill and keep pastry case stocked.
• Interacting with co-workers in order to assure compliance with company service standards, and company inventory and cash control procedures.
• Assuring compliance with all sanitation, ServSafe and safety requirements. Maintaining clean and safe work environment; performs job safely.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements of a Cashier:

• Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
