Responsibilities of a Housekeeper include:

• Cleaning of independent and assisted living homes according to standards, including but not limited to the following:
  • Performs general cleaning and sanitizing tasks and services throughout assigned property.
  • Uses cleaning cart to transport cleaning supplies.
  • Cleans and disinfects bathrooms.
  • Remove garbage, sweep, and mop, vacuum floors and furniture as needed.
  • Wipes and Clean patios, windows, spot clean carpets and walls
  • Completes all special cleaning procedures that are scheduled for monthly, weekly, yearly, cleaning. Such as bed cleaning, window cleaning, etc.
  • dusts surfaces in rooms and cleans mirrors.
  • Vacuums and cleans floors, rugs, furniture, and drapes.
  • Removes linens, towels, bedspreads, and blankets.
  • Places and neatly tucks clean sheets and blankets on beds and replaces pillowcases, as requested by resident.
  • Picks up and empties trash containers.
  • Loads washers and dryers.
• Additional duties may include public areas including offices, restrooms, meeting rooms, etc. in the time frame
• Work in health care, independent areas, and public areas on the weekend
• Has training and ability to help in the laundry where needed or assigned by Supervisor, Assistant Director and/or Director.
• Maintain neat, clean, and organized housekeeping closets and carts during your shift and before you leave. NO food or drink allowed in or on any carts or equipment.
• Report maintenance and housekeeping needs to leadership.
• Fills out and completes any documentation given and returns them to the supervisor/ manager.
• Performs any other tasks that may be assigned by Supervisor, Assistant Director or Director of Environmental Services

Requirements of a Housekeeper:

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a housekeeping setting such as a hotel, hospital, nursing home or contract cleaning service.
• Detail-oriented and thorough.
• Knowledge of housekeeping equipment (vacuum, mops, and cleaning chemicals, etc)
• Knowledge of infection control, OSHA/MSDS, and hazardous chemicals and waste. Have high standards toward safety set forth by Glenaire and OSHA. Has knowledge of Bloodborne pathogens cleaning procedures.
• Knowledge of SDS sheets and bottle labeling.
• Ability to speak and understand English.
• Must have effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to pass a drug screen test and criminal record check.
