DescriptionThe Sunbrella Copywriter role will be assigned to the well-known consumer facing Sunbrella brand, which carries a high design aesthetic and requires a warm, concise, and sophisticated voice. This role carries a high degree of refinement, accuracy, attention to detail, and consistency is paramount
The Copywriter position plays a key role on the Sunbrella creative/marketing team, crafting meaningful messaging for a variety of print and digital needs. The person successful in this position will understand direction from a creative brief and brand book, develop concise and compelling messaging, be receptive to feedback, work collaboratively with key stakeholders, and manage work to hit deadlines.
  • This role is a remote role, roughly around 10 hours per week***
  • This is a contract 1099 role, with an expected length of 3 months with possible extension**
Responsibilities
  • Understand target audience, Sunbrella brand voice, and creative briefs to inform strong messaging
  • Develop clear, concise, engaging, and grammatically correct messaging for print materials, sample materials, websites, blogs, email campaigns, etc.
  • Use SEO principles to maximize impact of digital content
  • Collaborate with marketers, digital and creative team
  • Conduct research to formulate ideas or support writing
  • Understand and incorporate feedback to land strong on-brief messaging
  • Review and edit own and others’ work to ensure no grammatical or other mistakes in final deliverables
Education And Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English or related field, or equivalent education and related training.
  • 2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong editorial, writing, and proofreading skills
  • Ability to adjust writing style to meet the needs of different audiences and markets
  • Communicate clearly and succinctly in written form
  • Experience with SEO
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Receptive to feedback
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Interest and experience with premium brands in the home and design industry a plus
