Gleason is Hiring a Lead Financial Analyst Near Rochester, NY

Position Summary:accounting, reporting, planning and financial support for Gleason Automation Systems as well as all aspects of capital planning, accounting and reporting for Rochester based operations .Job Responsibilities: GAS Accounting, Reporting and PlanningProvide financial support including accounting, reporting and forecasting activities. Prepare journal entries and reconciliations and perform system functions as needed for monthly closing. Complete quarterly Gleason Corporate reporting submission package for actuals and forecasts. Actively participate in monthly pre-SOP and SOP meetings related to machine projects for GAS and monitor impact of changes on prevailing plans/forecasts as well as to develop operating plan and financial forecasts for GAS sales and machine cost of sales. Participate in GAS machine cost monitoring process Support GAS inventory reporting and management including annual physical counts, excess and obsolete reserves and bulk inventory. Perform general accounting and reconciliations for general ledger accounts, prepare ongoing and ad hoc analysis/reports as needed. Capital Spending and Depreciation Maintain Sage Fixed Asset system and provide reporting for book and tax purposes for Rochester based entities as well as GCTC and GMS. GWR Machine Costing Maintain machine cost excel tool for GWR manufactured machines including bi-weekly updates to support GWR machine cost review meetings. Development and review with mgmt. of machine DCOS for the annual plan and forecasts. Review machines shipped to determine if any late cost accrual is required and prepare related journal entries as/if needed. Other Provide support to the Controller, GWR, Finance department and Operations Management as required. Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities): Hands on detailed financial planning and analysis experience, demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills. Proficiency in SAP FICO modules preferred. Ability to synthesize complex business data and reach sound and insightful conclusions. Highly motivated individual with very good analytical skills dedicated to completing tasks on schedule. Ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects in order to meet tight deadlines and produce high quality work. Excellent planning and communication skills, strong attention to detail and ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Cost accounting experience is preferred. Experience with perpetual inventory systems and both physical inventory and cycle counting processes.
