Gig Computer is Hiring a Technical Support Specialist Near Meridian, ID

We are looking for an experienced technician to join our team.

You will be responsible for helping customers resolve technical issues over the phone. This position is shared with other support agents in our Meridian Office. Our employees help each other as a team. You will be supporting our Point of Sale system and additional hardware/software, which includes: Windows Servers, Windows 10 Touch Screen Terminals, Printers, and other misc. hardware for use with our POS software. There will be opportunities to travel nationally as our client base continues to grow.

Responsibilities:

  • Answer calls and emails.
  • Log service calls
  • Process service tickets.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve client issues and concerns.

5 Years Experience:

  • Customer support experience.
  • Help Desk : Is professional on the phone. Must be able to multitask phone calls.
  • Operating System installations : Windows Server Essentials. Windows 10 professional. Understands drive partitions. Can create and reload a server with a bootable USB from an ISO.
  • Computer hardware : Experience building computers and servers. Knows what a RAID is and levels of RAID. Can name and explain each component inside a PC or Server.
  • Networking : Has built a wired network multiple times. Can tell me what the color code for T568B wiring. Understands subnets and ranges of them. Knows what DHCP and DNS mean.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a professional customer service ethic.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both written and orally, with team members.
  • Ability to walk customers through problem-solving processes.
  • Ability to ask questions to determine nature of the problem without a customers influenced diagnosis.
  • Strong multi-tasking abilities.

Schedule:

  • We are a 24/7 tech support business.
  • We are currently hiring for the 4pm - 1am swing shift MST.
  • Friday and Saturdays are mandatory work days for swing shift due to the hours of our clients industry.
