Kendall Auto Group is Hiring an IT Support Specialist Near Meridian, ID

Kendall Auto Group is one of the largest family owned and operated dealers in the Pacific Northwest and premier employer in the Treasure Valley. We are looking for an IT Support Specialist to join our team. This position is based out of our Dealer Support Center in Meridian, Idaho. No remote work options available. 

The primary responsibility of the Technical Support Specialist is to provide technical support and leadership.

Job tasks include:

  • Consistently delivers an excellent customer service with helpful, patient, and can-do attitude.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for hardware and software support.
  • Coordinate the Help Desk ticket process by acting as a liaison between engineering and Kendall locations.
  • Work with engineers or vendors as needed in the event of a system update, upgrade or failure.
  • Builds, configures, and ships desktops/laptops, IT accessories, and mobile devices in accordance with departmental standards.
  • Resolves user-identified problems through troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and solution implementation, both on-site and remotely.
  • Responsible for device control; ordering, replacing, issuing, updating, asset tagging and tracking.
  • Responsible for setting up computer and phone equipment at workstations.
  • Perform research required to resolve technology issues.
  • Assist in documenting IT technical instructions, processes, and procedures for both IT and user-facing knowledgebases.
  • Replace and upgrade consumer replaceable parts (i.e., hard drives, memory, graphic cards)
  • Troubleshoot basic network issues, subnets, and VPN connections.
  • Basic Active Directory administration (i.e., add, change, and remove objects)
  • Troubleshoot hardware and accessories issues (i.e., desktops, laptops, monitors, keyboard/mice, printers, mobile devices, A/V equipment).
  • Monitor, create, and work tickets within a ticket management system, escalating when necessary.
  • Respond to alerts and alarms.
  • Follow policies, processes, and procedures as documented.
  • Fulfill other duties and special projects as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Educational background in Computer Science or 2 years related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prefer 2 years of experience in a technical role.
  • Attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously within strict deadlines and with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to use a personal computer.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Access, Word and Excel.
  • Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet or other job-related software programs.
  • Constructively interacts with co-workers, provides coverage and cross training as needed.
  • Ability to participate as a member of a team, assisting in other projects as needed or as assigned.

Working is performed indoors in an office environment. May spend entirety of work shift working with PCs and video display screens. Lifting and carrying occasionally up to 20lbs. Standing/walking short distances, frequently up to 3/4 of work shift on hard surfaces.
