What’s The Job?GHSP, headquartered in West Michigan, is a leading global supplier of mechanical and electromechanical systems to the automotive and transportation industry. GHSP is currently looking for a Project Engineer to join our Engineering team in Holland. (Onsite-Hybrid work options are available)
The Project Engineer is a technical leader and primary customer technical interface who holds responsibilities to support the growth and profitability objectives of the company by aligning with customer needs and delivering solutions that require a detailed understanding of the complex intersections of all engineering disciplines required on a product. This must be done in the most simple and elegant manner to ensure all stakeholder needs are met. The Project Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all the customer’s technical requirements are satisfied by the final design and the resulting design meets manufacturability expectations.
What You’ll DoTechnical Direction & Leadership
  • Lead system integration effort between various engineering disciplines (ie. Software engineering, Electrical engineering, Mechanical engineering)
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among team members to drive project success.
  • Partner with Program Management and Systems Engineering teams to develop achievable project timelines.
  • Monitor and control objectives, costs, and timetables of product design and development.
  • Ensure manufacturability and optimization of product designs through leading cross functional reviews.
  • Identify and resolve multi-discipline engineering issues.
  • Provide support for all stakeholders during manufacturing development and launch.
  • Mentor and supervise lower-level engineers on the project teams, as needed.
Customer Interface
  • Serve as the primary customer interface for technical issues on assigned projects
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by meeting deadlines, managing product changes, while optimizing product cost
  • Communicate technical project status, progress, and key milestones.
Technical Skills
  • Identify and mitigate risks and issues to ensure successful project completion.
  • Collaborate with engineers and designers to solve technical challenges and optimize project outcomes.
  • Participate regularly to the product development team on deliverables such as:
  • Technical Project Plan
  • System component and product level testing plan
  • System level requirements
  • System Risk Management
  • Release Engineering Bill of Material (BOM) & Drawings
  • Technical Coordination (Mechanical, Hardware, Software, Sub-System Teams and Suppliers)
  • Integration Trade-off Studies
  • Design Reviews

RequirementsWhat You’ll Bring
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent preferred.
  • Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of Engineering experience
  • Experience in Product Engineering and Product Validation.
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally required, as needed.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
