Gerrity's Ace Hardware is Hiring a Full-Time Inventory Specialist Near Scranton, PA

The Full-Time Inventory Specialist will report to the Store Manager in all the activities in the organization related to maintaining inventory accuracy, stock levels, item change management merchandising and resets. While engaged in job duties the Inventory Specialist will also be required to provide helpful customer service to all customers while on the sales floor.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Customer Service:
• Proactively assist customers in solving problems.
• Greet customers entering and throughout the store. Thank customers when finished and when they are leaving the store.
• Possess a friendly outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates.
• Ensure all pages and calls are answered promptly, courteously and effectively.
• Forward any customer complaint that cannot be handled to a member of management.
• Assist customers throughout the store with personal, customized service based on Ace’s Helpful Promise.

Store Operations
• Creating a positive, professional and safe work environment.
• Ensure inventory accuracy.
• Completing changes in inventory management system in compliance with Mango reporting and to optimize stock levels and maximize sales volume. This would include determining which items are needed in job lot quantity.
• Assist with receiving, and stocking of merchandise throughout the store.
• Assist with daily maintenance, orderliness and cleanliness of the sales floor, stock room and outdoor merchandise area.
• Coordinate all monthly promotions including the monthly endcaps as well as execution of the monthly promotion guide.
• Ensure a clean and orderly sales floor.
• Complete merchandise resets through the store with an appropriate team for each set.
• Ensure price changes are completed in a timely manner.
• Ensure signage is current throughout the store.
• Participate in store meetings.
• Be professional in appearance and actions.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• Minimum of 1-2 years experience in Inventory Management in a retail environment.
• High School or GED equivalent
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the business
• Employee must regularly move and/or lift 50lbs
• Ability to read, write, analyze, interpret and understand the English language with sufficient proficiency in order to read and understand
• Proficient mathematical skills in regards to counting multiple items in multiple locations as well as how those numbers apply to an order for merchandise.
