Job Description

IT Specialist is responsible of setting up, managing, and troubleshooting the technology systems that Gerrity’s Supermarkets uses to maintain computer and software networks. Duties include responding to hardware problems, updating system software, and tracking the data and communications used on the Company network.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and administrate existing software and hardware.
  • Oversee the IT department personnel, including training, development, and accountability.
  • Oversee network administration tasks.
  • Regularly evaluate Gerrity’s Information Technology systems to ensure they meet the operational, financial and security requirements.
  • Explore, develop, install, and implement the latest information technology and best practices while considering Gerrity’s operational and financial goals.
  • Oversee network administration tasks.
  • Ensure PCI compliance, and security of data communication and storage.
  • Monitor and maintain security certificates and company compliance with government and software/hardware provider requirements.
  • Provide education and guidelines to Gerrity’s management and staff regarding network security and best practices.
  • Supporting the day-to-day operations of company computer hardware, software, and network, including technical support and training to company staff.
  • Administrate software used to facilitate and track maintenance and IT request orders; assign IT projects and duties as necessary.
  • Oversee maintenance and hosting support of product files to stores.
  • Oversee and coordinate third-party IT partners.
  • Maintain inventory roster of all company hardware, including brands, models, and software versions.
  • Maintain remote support to all locations and in-person support whenever necessary.
  • Maintain a regular presence in all locations as necessary to inspect the condition of all information technology.
  • Pursue new techniques, certifications, and education to ensure your personal growth and relevance in the IT field.

Requirements

  • Degree in IT, computer science, or related field required.
  • Prior experience in Information Technology or related field.
  • Valid and unrestricted driver’s license & ability to travel.
  • At least 18 years of age or older.
  • Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication ability, both written and verbal.
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs.
