Job Summary:
This is a part-time, hourly position that shares both mental health responsibilities and substance use treatment services responsibilities. The purpose of the position is to provide mental health and substance use treatment counseling and complete the required documentation. Travel, referral services, evaluation, treatment team participation, and annual fidelity visits are all part of the position.
NOTE: This is a 29-hour-per-week position.
JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Mental Health responsibilities include:
·Perform intake services to youth including screening
·Completes mental health assessments of youth to include reviewing records, contacting families, and consulting clinical supervisor
·Provides therapeutic counseling to individuals, groups, or families, to effect positive changein the youth’s behavior and/or social situations.
·Participates as a member of a treatment team to identify youths’ strengths, resources, symptoms, and psychological challenges to develop and monitor aneffective plan of treatment.
·Prepares and submits required reports and other documentation.
·Engages in clinical supervision to facilitate the development of clinicalknowledge, skills, and professional integrity of mental health services provided to youth
Substance Use Treatment responsibilities include:
·Provides weekly substance use treatment groups and completes all required documentation
·Completes all required documentation per DJJ SUTS Policies 12.20, 12.25, and DJJ Policy 5.8
·Completes initial Substance Use Intervention Treatment Plans and monthly reviews
·Participates in treatment team meetings when available and coordinates SU treatment information to be relayed to the treatment team
·Reviews Seven Challenges Journals and provides written feedback to youth weekly
·Participates in the Seven Challenges three-day initial training and the annual Seven Challenges Fidelity visit once per year
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
·Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university
·OR Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of related experience.
·Note: Some positions require eligibility for licensure.
AGENCY QUALIFICATIONS:
·Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university in one of the following areas: Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a directly related field
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess the following:
·Master`s degree in a mental health field from an accredited college or university (e.g., counseling, social work, or psychology). The degree must be in an area that would qualify the graduate for licensure by the Georgia Composite Board of Professional Counselors, Social Workers, and Marriage and Family Therapists.
·Georgia licensure or eligible for licensure in a mental health field.
·Seven Challenges certified Counselor and/or Leader in a juvenile correction facility or adolescent residential treatment setting.
