POSITION: DRAFTING TECHNOLOGY (EVENING) ADJUNCT – Hall County Campus Evening Program

REPORTS TO: Dean of Advanced Technology and Engineering

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under general supervision:

• Develops program and course outlines, goals and objectives.
• Prepares lesson plans for classroom and lab instruction for credited courses.
• Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives, submits midterm grade reports, final grade reports.
• Maintains program certification requirements, as appropriate.
• Prepares and maintains all other required documentation and administrative reports.
• Completes required institutional trainings.
• Ensures that safety and security requirements are met in the training area.

This position will serve to support our Drafting Technology evening program at the Hall campus in Gainesville, GA.Courses taught include Architectural Fundamentals, Architectural 3D Modeling, Residential Drawing I, Residential Drawing II, and Commercial Drawing.Evening courses run from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 16 weeks.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

An Associate’s degree in drafting technology or a related field.3 years of paid work experience as a drafter, drafting instructor/trainer, or in the drafting industry. Must have Mechanical drafting experience. Applicant must possess good people skills and basic computer skills.

• Applicant must be proficient in 2D and 3D CAD software, dimensioning conventions, printing and reproduction technologies, and file sharing technologies.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (in addition to minimum qualifications and competencies):

·Prior teaching experience.

·Familiarity with AutoCAD, Inventor, Solid Works, and REVIT are a plus.

NOTE: Adjunct faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions of employment that are appointed on a per-academic-term basis.
