The Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH) is one of Georgia's four health agencies serving the state's growing population of over 10 million people. DCH serves as the lead agency for Medicaid, oversees the State Health Benefit Plan (SHBP) and Healthcare Facility Regulation, impacting one in four Georgians.

Job Responsibilities

The Georgia Boards of Dentistry and Pharmacy are seeking qualified candidates for the Licensing Tech position. This position is responsible for the following job responsibilities:

  • Evaluates applications for examination and registration, including documents such as educational transcripts, complex work history, professional experience, and internship records.
  • Prepares report of results of applications evaluation.
  • Attends board and committee meetings to present application evaluation reports
  • Manages the communication of all decisions regarding application evaluations to applicants, internal and external staff, and the board.
  • Ensures the confidentiality of information pertaining to applications in accordance with applicable laws and rules.
  • Prepares reports of eligible candidates for examination and authorizes examination services provider to schedule and administer the examination to these candidates.
  • Coordinates with the examination services provider scheduling candidates with special needs, in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Audits the examination scores and ensures that the scores are mailed with appropriate eligibility and/or licensing information
  • Advises licensees and other individuals or groups concerning licensing, permit, or regulations
  • Evaluates applications, records, and documents in order to gather information concerning violations, eligibility, or liability issues
  • Issues or reviews licenses, permits, or certificates of authority
  • Prepares correspondence informing applicants of licensing decisions and appeals processes
  • Reports rules, regulations, or law violations to appropriate boards or agencies
  • Review compliance with applicable laws and regulations

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND One year of related experience OR Associate's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Three years of related experience OR Five years of related experience OR One year of experience at the lower level (RCT011) or position equivalent.
