There is an open position in the Georgetown Public Schools.POSITION: District Technology Support Technician (level II)LOCATION: High SchoolSUPERVISOR: Director of OperationsANNUAL SALARY: Employee contract based on experienceSTART DATE: July 01, 2024WORK HOURS: 7:00 am - 3:00 pmWORK YEAR: year round positionJOB DESCRIPTIONMaintain hardware inventoriesManage and maintain hardware including but not limited to PC, Macbook, iPad, displays, Chromebooks, firewalls, switches, access points, phone systems and ChromebooksProvide assistance to staff in the use of on-line programs & computer applications (Google Suite, Windows, macOS, Jamf, Gaggle)Maintain and update network guides, drawings, and documentation as necessaryResponsible for documentation of all aspects of the network and any changes madeBe available to support staff with their computer issues in a timely mannerWork with Technology Administration to devise, implement, and administer the District Technology PlanEnsure backups of network equipmentProvide procedural instruction to staff for policies in the schoolIdentify and troubleshoot problems, provide advice to assist usersProvide assistance and troubleshooting to other tech staff and end users on all platformsResponsible to communicate network issues or outages, and to use all available means to solve network related issuesResponsible to communicate with tech admin, vendors, and consultants about network needs and issuesTrain other staff within the department on your systems for redundancyImage Windows and MAC devices as neededMaintain the district’s Mitel phone systems (extensions, voicemail passwords, routing…)Performs other duties as may be requested by the Superintendent of Schools and/or Director of OperationsJOB REQUIRMENTSPrior Experience in a public school setting preferredAbility to work well independently, but also work well within a team environmentProficiency with Microsoft, Apple, and Chrome operating systems including Exchange and Server/Active DirectoryKnowledge of wireless protocolsExperience with Xirrus APs or similarProficiency with Windows Server, MS Exchange, MSOffice, Aspen SIS, SNAP health database, EdLine, ESped, backups, Google Admin and other softwareExperience with Sonicwall Firewalls or similarExperience in spam filtering, black list removal, archiving laws and proceduresPossess excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skillsExperience with phone and network cablingMust have a valid driver’s licenseKnowledge of current software applications for classrooms preferredExperience with SSO and application of this protocol to leverage several of our systems with one sign onExperience with serial port connectionsSALARY & BENEFITSEligible for health insuranceContractual vacation, sick days and personal days
