Key Responsibilities
- Directly oversee planning and execution of Agile or Waterfall projects, ensuring adherence to project performance criteria (timeliness, scope, budget, quality).
- Develop project estimates using Agile software development estimation techniques.
- Apply advanced project management expertise across various knowledge areas (scope, time, cost, quality, resources, communication, risk, procurement, integration).
- Identify and engage internal and external stakeholders in coordination with Product and resource owners, managing stakeholder activities throughout project lifecycle.
- Lead the development and review of project requirements with Product Owners, Solution Architects, and Technical Leads to ensure planned benefits are realized.
- Facilitate alignment between Technical Leads, Project Delivery Staff, and QE Leads to synchronize delivery and testing.
- Coordinate cross-departmental project delivery activities, ensuring commitment and managing competing demands to maintain project delivery timelines.
- Plan project implementations, conduct dry runs, and oversee Go-live activities to ensure smooth production transitions.
- Escalate significant issues and risks promptly to leadership.
- Ensure completion of Organizational Change Management activities to drive product adoption.
- Plan and execute Transition to Support to enable support of new or modified systems.
- Adhere to IS PMO processes for deliverables, stage gates, and controls compliant with SOX and management controls.
- Manage project financials using SAP, PPM, and Excel, providing accurate and timely submissions.
- Monitor and control all project delivery aspects following CPKC IS PMO and project management best practices.
- Develop presentations for senior management on project scope, schedule, budget, and status updates.
- Provide project leadership by setting clear goals, engaging team members, resolving conflicts, and acknowledging team contributions.
- Conduct regular lessons learned sessions to drive continuous improvement within project teams.
- Extensive experience leading large, multi-stakeholder information systems projects.
- Proficient in project management planning tools (e.g., MS Project) and associated MS Office products.
- Strong track record of success in team-oriented environments, fostering collaborative relationships.
- Experience managing Software and Technology Development, and/or Application Integration projects using Agile, Iterative, or Waterfall methodologies.
- Proficiency in root cause problem-solving and decision-making.
- Ability to understand and communicate business and technical strategies effectively.
- Experience in SOW development, contract negotiations, and vendor management.
- Post-secondary education in Commerce/Business, Engineering, Technology, or Computer Science.
