Generator Source is a growing industrial power generator distributor that buys and sells new surplus and used commercial power generation equipment throughout the world. We are currently looking to add a highly motivated and qualified Industrial Power Generator Salesperson to our team. We are a family owned company located in Brighton, Colorado that has been in the power generation industry for over 30 years.

Our focus is on low-hour industrial diesel and natural gas generators for backup and emergency power that are 20 kW to 2500 kW. We only work with top name brands like Cummins, Caterpillar, Kohler, Generac , John Deere, MTU Onsite Energy and more. We are searching for a career oriented individual with top-notch sales skills and a focus on customer service.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follow up on incoming sales leads, RFQ’s and answer sales related calls with a friendly telephone etiquette and courtesy.
• Qualify prospects, assess customer needs and rapidly quote solutions, then make follow up calls.
• Continuously develop product and technical knowledge to assist customers with unit selection
• Research, contact, and negotiate with potential and current customers
• Prospect, call on and close business in existing and new markets
• Work closely with electrical contractors, electrical engineers and commercial end users
• Submit required sales forms and assist in the closing process
• Negotiate and close deals based on margin requirements
• Utilize our lead management, inventory detail and CRM software to quote and follow up
• Evaluate and implement prospecting and negotiation strategies
• Continuously looks for new customer opportunities and makes outbound calls as needed
• Make calls to previous and prospective customers to build relationships and generate leads
• Meet with customers when they come in to inspect equipment.
• Assist with other duties as required

JOB REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:

• Minimum 7 years of sales experience. Positive attitude and proven success in sales is required.
• Preference will be given to applicants with power generation industry product experience.
• Basic understanding of engine and/or generator technology is a plus.
• Ability to learn more technical power generation concepts and details and apply that knowledge to customer solutions.
• Evaluate customer needs based on their voltage requirements, electric motor and horsepower configurations, facility load requirements, etc. and calculate required kW.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working with power generation equipment or generator services is a plus (i.e. - commercial or residential generators, transfer switches, load bank tests, transformers, fuel tanks, voltage changes, fuel polishing, etc.) but is not required.
• Experience and success with eBay related sales is a plus.
• Must be comfortable with national and international phone based sales.
• Ability to utilize lead management software plus maintain and update all required databases regarding sales activates and customer contacts.

COMPENSATION: Salary/Commission

This position is full-time and is located in Brighton, Colorado
