We are looking for someone organized and detail-oriented, who loves to make chaotic situations run smoothly, understands the value of strong processes and will enthusiastically familiarize oneself with our software systems to assist in creating and then managing a seamless, efficient, and highly organized project onboarding process. This person is passionate about the type of work Generate is doing, looking to apply their experience to help scale a growing business and drive critical internal process efficiencies and initiatives. This person can juggle – and juggle well – managing a variety of stakeholders and projects simultaneously while providing the highest standards of performance.

What you will be doing at Generate Capital as an Assistant Project Manager:

  • Thoroughly understand the details, key milestones, and deliverables associated with projects under development in order to ensure seamless handover to the ongoing operations team and other internal stakeholders.
  • Identify and complete a variety of administrative tasks related to project development, such as asset ownership transfer forms, incentive program applications/registrations, interconnection and permitting paperwork, and insurance applications.
  • Onboard and build relationships with project landowners.
  • Collect, organize, and perform quality control checks on asset and transaction-related information.
  • Read and understand project development documents such as leases, permitting approvals, PILOT agreements, etc. and create summaries of owner obligations.
  • Track project progress and deliverables, ensuring that responsible parties are aware of requirements and keeping records of compliance.
  • Support the evolution of internal tools and processes.
  • In cooperation with other departments, project manage processes such as creation of new legal entities, bank account setup, insurance procurement, regulatory filings, and PILOT applications.
  • Facilitate handover meetings with other support teams within Generate, such as Construction, Commercial Asset Management, and Investment team.
  • Effectively manage relationships between Developers and Generate as projects are preparing for and undergoing construction.
  • Work with Generate Capital Investment Team to identify and track project deliverables for both developer and Generate.
  • Assist in site diligence in conjunction with internal teams and consultants including critical issues screening, preliminary design and energy model, landowner and utility issues.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation efforts.

Candidate qualifications & core characteristics:

  • A demonstrated passion for, or commitment to, our mission
  • 2 years’ experience in development administration and/or project management, with some exposure to solar PV projects preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and follow-through
  • Effective written and oral communicator capable of motivating colleagues and external parties to collaborate and respond to requests.
  • Unimpeachable integrity and glowing references
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, including empathy, intuition, and listening as well as strong writing, editing, and basic design skills.
  • High level of self-awareness and humility, with excitement about confronting uncomfortable situations or new challenges
  • Intellectual agility, curiosity, and creativity; problem-solving is your default mode
  • Entrepreneurial spirit: flexibility, comfort with risk, recognition that “perfect can be the enemy of the good”

Generate’s compensation packages are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Salary decisions take into account a wide variety of factors including, but not limited to: skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, geographic location, and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $100,000 - $120,000. In addition, the compensation package may include a discretionary bonus and other benefits, including health care benefits, retirement benefits, benefits permitting paid days off (including sick leave, parental leave, and paid time off or vacation benefits), and other benefits that must be reported for federal tax purposes. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of this range.
