GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
The primary focus of this position is to perform various accounting functions, including month-end close activities, transactional work, report creation and analysis, and various projects as part of the Finance team.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES or tasks performed:
- Process transactions associated with the accounting functions currently assigned
- Work as part of the team during the month-end close process; prepare schedules, analyze accounts, and identify and make adjusting entries as needed
- Investigate the various causes of errors and follow up to ensure that problems are resolved
- Analyze labor and benefit costs, prepare cashflow projections and key metric dashboards
- Develop financial models and reports to support business decisions
- Support accounting systems by testing new processes, documenting procedures, and reviewing data
- Obtain and maintain a thorough knowledge of the company’s products/services
- Serve as backup for others on the Finance team and perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND KEY COMPETENCIES:
- A Bachelor’s degree in accounting with a minimum of 5 years’ experience
- Strong understanding of accounting systems; Microsoft GP and/or Power BI experience a plus
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office with strong skills in Excel a must
- Personal values that match our corporate values
- Logical thinking and excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to work with large amounts of data
- High level of initiative, curiosity, and willingness to seek out information
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team and meet deadlines
