New Energy Works is Hiring a Senior Accountant (Rochester, NY) Near Rochester, NY

Position: Senior Accountant 
Company: New Energy Works & Pioneer Millworks
Reports To: Controller – Finance
Pay Range: $60,000-$80,000/year

Overview –
This role, reporting to the Controller, will be a partner in building and developing the accounting functions at the company. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the company monthly reporting package and related reconciliations, as well as the management and support of key areas of the business including our credit card platform. The Senior Accountant will have experience preparing reconciliations and will help drive improvements in accounting systems and processes.

Responsibilities:

Oversee and prepare monthly general ledger reconciliations.

  • Assist with the preparation of a timely and accurate monthly financial package.
  • Prepare multi company balance sheet and income statement for reporting.
  • Prepare ad hoc reporting and analysis as requested.
  • Assist with refining current month end close procedures across functions to a timely accounting close.

Manage and support credit card platforms, reconciliations, and overall programs.

  • Support annual review with outside accounting firm.
  • Oversee inventory management.

Support preparation of annual budget and forecasting needs.

  • Collaborate with operations to enhance results, optimize system setups, and assist with other projects as requested.
  • Implement department process improvements.
  • Other tasks as directed by the Controller.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Must comply with all New Energy Works polices and code of conduct.

Misc.:

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Experience:

  • 5 years’ experience in corporate accounting or business administration.
  • Very familiar with MS office products – strong Excel skills.
  • Critical thinking and strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and its application; ability to support corporate accounting processes.
  • Previous experience and expertise with Acumatica or other ERP software.
  • Ability to work with coworkers at all levels and across multiple companies in various states/locations.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in a manufacturing or construction environment
  • Experience with socially and environmentally conscious business models

Required Education: 2-yr degree in Accounting or Business Administration (4 year degree preferred)
