Location: Onsite Gaithersburg, MD
The Role
GeneDx is a patient-centered technology company seeking an IT Asset Manager to manage mobile and on-premise IT endpoint and accessory inventory and deployment.
In this role, you will manage the physical inventory of IT assets within our Gaithersburg lab location, which in turn enables our organizational strategy and tactics. You will partner closely with IT Service Desk team members and systems engineers to determine the best workflows and storage processes for our IT assets, and with our People team partners to prepare and deploy new hire equipment. You will be directly supported by the Identity and Endpoint Lead.
With our IT and engineering colleagues, you will work to ensure your peers are able to complete their objectives when they rely upon shared infrastructure you design and implement. Your role is to design and implement the beginning and end stages of the IT Asset management lifecycle and develop and implement plans based on the challenges and problems you identify. Your team will value you for your foresight, organization, and ability to anticipate challenges and work independently.
Experience, Traits, and Skills
- Highly organized.
- Experience designing and consistently following technical SOPs.
- Experience managing inventory and the security of physical assets.
- Collaborative, customer service mindset, with basic technical troubleshooting skills.
- Curious and comfortable learning new technologies.
The Responsibilities
- Processing returned assets to be added to the fleet for repurposing.
- Manage the end of asset lifecycle data destruction and recycling of physical assets.
- Work through warranty repairs and replacements for damaged equipment.
- Maintain a well inventoried and controlled IT Asset inventory room within the Gaithersburg lab.
- Perform quarterly inventory audits against CMDB.
The Objectives
- Design and implement a physical asset tracking solution for the IT inventory room in the Gaithersburg lab, including asset disposition, accurate within 95% within 30 days.
- Design and implement an improved physical layout for device Imaging and flow, within 45 days.
- Maintain a no-touch ready to deploy inventory of standard issue laptops and desktop computers that the service desk team can leverage for urgent replacements within 60 days.
