At Gendelman Klimas Edwards, Ltd., Family is Everything. We practice in the areas of contested and uncontested probate, estate planning, and family law. Gendelman Klimas Edwards, Ltd. is a progressive, modern, lifestyle law firm with a casual, interactive, and friendly environment. This associate attorney’s caseload will consist of primarily of family law cases; however, they may assist with cases in all practice areas of the firm. Our billing requirement for associate attorneys is 1,500 hours per year, evaluated on a quarterly basis. Gendelman Klimas Edwards, Ltd. is dedicated to promoting from within and offers a clear, defined path for advancement including Of Counsel and Partner tracks.
Duties
- Manage high-volume litigation caseload, with increased responsibility and independence
- Assist partners, senior associates, and associates with existing caseloads
- Make court appearances as needed
- Draft motions and pleadings, conduct discovery, etc.
- Attend depositions as needed
- Facilitate client meetings and consultations
- Perform legal research
- Attend mediations and engage in other dispute resolution processes
- Delegate and supervise work to paralegal and other staff members
- Adhere to billing standards and conventions
Requirements
- Juris Doctor from an ABA Accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in the State of Colorado, no later than November of 2024; we will consider candidates that are taking the July 2024 Colorado Bar Exam and may extend an offer of employment to them as a law clerk until they are licensed, at which time they would be promoted to an associate attorney
- Exceptionally detail oriented

- Thirst for advocacy and justice
Preferred qualifications
- Strong interest or experience in family law and/or trust and estate law
- Experience with finance, tax, and/or banking
Compensation:
- Our associate attorney total compensation range is generally between $75,000 and $130,000 per year, depending on experience, qualifications, and self-generated business. Total compensation will consist of base pay, commissions, incentives, and bonus. Realistic first year compensation for an entry level associate in this position is $78,000, increasing over time based on experience and performance.
- Law clerk compensation is $25.00 per hour, during any period in which the employee is not licensed as an attorney in Colorado.
