Description

Tonkin Parts Center, part of the Gee Automotive Company, is a family-owned business based in the Pacific Northwest. Gee Automotive operates 40 new car dealerships on the West Coast, and the Tonkin Parts Center in Portland, Oregon is the largest automotive original equipment parts wholesaler in the US. We deliver parts to customers from Northern California to the Canadian border, and in to Idaho.

 We are actively seeking out an Outside Sales Representative to join our team! Our facility represents 14 OEM carlines and has been at our current 130,000-square-foot facility since 2001. We offer daily parts delivery service to our valued customers, and with the help of our warehouse, delivery, and sales teams, we see yearly sales exceeding 120 million dollars.

Working as our Outside Sales Representative in the Tacoma\Seattle area and most of Western Washington, you would be responsible helping to grow our business by building new relationships in your territory, while maintaining relationships with our current customers. Both prior outside sales, and customer service experience are necessary for you to thrive in this position. As an ideal candidate for this position, you are driven and motivated to provide an excellent customer service experience while growing our business, and your own earning potential!

Outside Sales Representative (Automotive Parts) Job Responsibilities

As an outside sales representative, your job responsibilities would be as follows:

  • Work to add new customers to our existing customer base.
  • Promote our company from Tacoma, Washington to the Canadian border.
  • Visiting existing customers regularly.
  • Facilitate the needs of our customers.
  • Act as a point of contact between our company and our customers.

Outside Sales Representative (Automotive Parts) Job Qualifications

  • Must be comfortable with face-to-face visitation.
  • The candidate for this job must have an outgoing personality and be personable.
  • Be self-motivated.
  • Must have a current driver's license and be accepted by our insurance company.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Have a basic knowledge of automotive-related terms.
  • Work cohesively with the Sales Manager and other members of the sales team.
  • Be able to travel overnight if required. (Not more than 4 times per month)
  • Learn both our company policies as well as those of the manufacturer.
  • Be comfortable with driving.
