Garris Group Family Services, LLC is Hiring a Qualified Mental Health Professional Near Hampton, VA

We are looking for dedicated and skilled Qualified Mental Health Professionals who are able to work in the Hampton Roads area, servicing clients in the cities of Hampton, Newport News, Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Chesapeake.

The Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) will be responsible for providing services to consumers in their home and in the community. This will include individualized training to enable consumers to achieve and maintain community stability and independence in the most appropriate, least restrictive environment while being consistent with DMAS and DBHDS policies and procedures. Must be registered with the Virginia Board of Counseling as a QMHP

Duties of the Qualified Mental Health Professional can include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for proper and timely submission of all documentation pertaining to services provided in compliance with DBHDS and Garris Group Family Services, LLC.
  • Prepares (and updates) treatment plans in collaboration with consumer using a person-centered focus
  • Provides training and hand-on application in various behavioral, social and daily living skills in the home and community.
  • Utilizing interventions pursuant to the needs of the goals of the consumer
  • Provides linkage to community-based services; provides advocacy and support for consumers with these services.
  • Provides consumer with necessary education and support.
  • Maintains regular and ongoing care coordination with referring agencies, as well as other collaborating agencies involved in consumer’s case.
  • Attends meetings, workshops and trainings as required.
  • Attends monthly supervision with the Clinical Supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the upper management team

Qualifications Education:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Human Services or a related subject area from an accredited college or university.

Professional Experience:

  • Must be a registered by the Virginia Board of Counseling as a QMHP
  • Experience in community-based services and working with Medicaid consumers, preferred
