Duties: As a Qualified Mental Health Professional, you will provide quality Mental Health Skill-Building services to adults through training and support; enable clients to achieve and maintain community stability and independence in the most appropriate, least restrictive environment. Qualified Mental Health Staff will train and reinforce functional skills and appropriate behaviors related to the Client/Individual's mental health and safety, activities of daily living and use of community-based resources. This position reports directly to the Clinical Supervisor.
You may also:
- Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans based on individual needs and goals
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as psychiatrists, psychologists, and special education teachers, to provide comprehensive care
- Utilize evidence-based practices and interventions to support clients' progress and well-being
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client sessions and progress
Experience:
Qualified Mental Health Staff typically render services in the community including but not limited to hospitals, group homes & primarily residential settings, etc.
All Qualified Mental Health Staff must hold a “Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human services or a related field from an accredited college or university,” or must be a QMHP (Qualified Mental Health Professional-A,C or T).
The Virginia Board of Counseling recognizes the following degrees as “human services or related fields:”
