The physical therapy program at Gannon University is committed to excellence in student-centered learning, with an emphasis on student-learning outcomes. Our graduate assistants play an important role in achieving these outcomes, working collaboratively with program faculty and colleagues as they assist in program operations, hosting open-lab times with first-year students, tutoring as requested by the faculty, and in practice opportunities. Graduate assistants must maintain student confidentiality, display initiative, and be flexible with work requirements. This position is for students beginning the first year of the DPT program.Responsibilities for the fall semester include:1. Ensuring that all students abide by laboratory safety guidelines, are wearing proper attire (long pants, closed-toed shoes, eye protection), and are maintaining professional rapport during scheduled lab times2. Dissection of cadavers per provided instructions. It is expected that the second-year anatomy graduate assistant will mentor the first-year graduate assistant in the completion of dissections3. Supervision of open labs hosted by first-year anatomy graduate assistants to ensure lab safety4. Assist in maintaining an inventory of essential lab materials including nitrile gloves and dissection kits5. Ensuring that all lab surfaces and tools are properly cleaned/disinfected following dissections or open labsSpring semester responsibilities will include lab set-ups, laundry, and other duties as assigned.Career Readiness Competencies: Leadership: Plan, initiate, manage, complete, and evaluate projects to enhance the undergraduate experience within the physical therapy program. Teamwork: Collaborate with faculty and the other GA’s to effectively complete all responsibilities and tasks.
