Program Coordinator I – full time (36-40 hours/week)
Schedule: Monday-Friday with one Saturday per month
Job description: The Program Coordinator reports directly to the Programs Manager. The Program Coordinator’s main role is to assist with the planning, coordination, and growth of Senior programs under the guidance and direction of Programs Manager. In addition, the Programs Coordinator will assist in a variety of tasks and projects related to the facilitation of other Food Bank programs as directed by the Programs Director, such as administrative tasks, answering phones and emails, filing, and managing schedules, and attending meetings in the place of the Director.
- High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 1-2 years of related experience
- Interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong organizational and administrative skills, attention to detail
- Strong computer proficiency – proficient in Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Demonstrate punctuality
- Strong work ethic with a positive, team player attitude
- Self-motivated
- Demonstrates patience and empathy with vulnerable populations
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be able to lift 25-35 pounds.
- Be comfortable working in a variety of weather conditions (on occasion); comfortable working in a warehouse setting (20% of the time)
- Bilingual preferred, but not required
- Coordinate the facilitation of Senior Programs:
o Monitor the implementation of program policies and practices for GCFB senior programs – Homebound Nutritional Outreach and CSFP (Commodity Supplemental Food Program); keep programs on schedule within stated budgets and functioning smoothly. Support program growth and development as necessary; provide monthly reports to Programs Director.
o Additional tasks include client intake; attend senior distribution events and house-visits; scheduling of and providing assistance to volunteers, including one Saturday morning per month.
- Assist in a variety of tasks related to other GCFB programs, including:
o Childrens Programs - assist in the outreach and implementation of GCFB’s Backpack Buddy and Kidz Pacz Programs; assist in site visits and inspections.
o Pantry Partner Program – filing documentation (hard copy and digital); assist in annual site visits and inspections.
- Additional tasks include, but are not limited to:
o Answering of emails, client phone calls; act as backup for incoming phone calls if front desk receptionist is unavailable.
o Create (if necessary) and maintain filing system for all programs.
o Run errands and/or pick up supplies between buildings as needed.
o Assist in monthly reporting for all programs.
o Proofread or make document updates or corrections as directed by Programs Director
o Help maintain cleanliness of GCFB administrative building.
o Greeting and directing people who come through the front door; disseminate mail/packages that may be left at the front.
o Assist in miscellaneous tasks that come up in the course of work that pertains to Programs Department of GCFB
Must pass drug testing and background checks. Must have a driver's license with a clear driving history and current vehicle insurance.
