Summary:

The Route Specialist will go through a 4-week training period to become familiar with all Gallagher Uniform departments, functions, products, processes and procedures, etc. The Route Specialist will then continue training in order to become familiar with all Gallagher Uniform delivery routes, customers, products, etc. During that time, they will deliver learned routes alone (assembling products to be delivered, loading Gallagher vehicles, driving to different territories, servicing Gallagher Uniform customers, and unloading Gallagher vehicles). The equipment he or she will be working with will be rolling carts and trucks/truck lift gates. The Route Specialist will also be working with uniform, mats, towels, mops, etc. They will be expected to work cooperatively with customer service representatives and team leaders to ultimately provide timely, friendly and accurate delivery of our products and services to customers.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for assisting in all areas for which the Route Service Dept. is responsible. This includes driving and delivering safely, accurately assembling all products for routes, loading and unloading vehicles, and washing trucks.
• Responsible for running routes in absence of regularly assigned Route Service Representatives.
• May make special deliveries to customers.
• General assistance in plant as needed.

Qualifications & Educational Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Chauffer’s license and a driving record that meets Gallagher Uniform’s insurance carrier standards
• Able to obtain a 1-2 year DOT card and keep it active
• Able to lift and carry bundles weighing up to 85 pounds short distances
• Able to climb in and out of a truck several times a day in all kinds of weather
• Outgoing, engaging personality
• Organized with strong communication skills
• Able to manage time and meet deadlines
• Non Tobacco user
