Team or Function Overview The Retail Sales Representative is responsible for supporting our sales and marketing efforts at large national retail locations. Summary This role will facilitate the sale and flow of GAF products through big box home improvement retail accounts and will educate and promote the growth of the roofing category. Essential Duties Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Train individuals or small groups with emphasis on general product knowledge, application techniques, and best practices. Manage a book of contractors that this candidate will be growing and maintaining Developing and assisting contractors that are purchasing in the retail space to help grow their businesses Develop and maintain close working relationships with the Retail Sales Service Manager, GAF Territory Sales Managers, big box home improvement retail management/pro desk/merchandising teams, and store associates/contractors Implement GAF product and set integrity in stores, provide feedback on market conditions Understanding retail business, including product placement and retail store systems Perform other duties as assigned Physical Demands Ability to routinely work in a stationary position for long periods of time Ability to routinely move about to accomplish tasks or to move from one work area to another Ability to position self to bend, pull, and reach overhead and/or below shoulder level to perform filling functions, lifting, carrying, and moving of products/materials occasionally Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use hands to grasp, handle or feel objects, tools, and products routinely Ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and ramps occasionally Ability to work with heights occasionally Frequent sitting, walking, and standing; occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing Ability to lift, carry, or otherwise move up to 50 lbs of products, materials, boxes, equipment, etc. occasionally Ability to work in outdoor conditions including high/low temperatures, inclement weather, wind, dust, humidity, etc., frequently Ability to frequently and quickly converse with and convey information to others on the phone and in-person Manual dexterity to routinely operate standard office equipment and keyboards Visual acuity including close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus routinely to view documents and computer screens, operate motor vehicles, etc. Must continuously have the ability to differentiate colors precisely Ability to wear and work in PPE occasionally Ability to operate a motor vehicle and travel without assistance routinely Ability to operate motor vehicle and safely traverse/navigate jobsites in a constant state of alertness routinely Under This Roof, We Require 1 years experience in a sales, branch manager, or customer service-focused role (wholesale building materials industry a plus) The ability to have and maintain a driver’s license Under This Roof, We Also Value Bachelor's Degree 1 to 2 years experience in a sales, branch manager, or customer service-focused role (building materials industry a plus) Combination of retail sales & customer service along with an interest in becoming a Territory Sales Manager desired Highly motivated and have a strong desire for advancement in a roofing sales capacity Intermediate proficiency using Google Suite Intermediate understanding of commercial roofing and/or coatings products How We Protect What Matters Most We offer a wide range of health insurance options that include medical, dental, and vision for you and your family.
