POSITION TITLE: Intern

TEAM: Various Departments 

REPORTS TO: Vice President - Human Resources

FLSA Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt

OBJECTIVE

The aim of this internship is to provide the intern with opportunities to gain new skills across a range of positions in the Gable organization and allow them to learn about many different areas of our business. The intern will work in different departments, Human Resources/ Front Office Reception, Finance & Accounting, Client Services, and our manufacturing facility. As dictated by business needs, the intern may also provide support to other departments with similar administrative tasks as their schedule allows.

The assignments will be based upon the intern’s skill, areas of interest, and fields of study.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Completing tasks as assigned by supervisors
  • Taking direction from the Gable team members that they are working with on tasks
  • Prioritizing tasks and managing their time effectively
  • Learning about Gable’s business and the visual communications industry
  • Acquiring a basic understanding of GRACE (Gable’s ERP) and other relevant software

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The intern’s essential function will be to provide support to three departments with daily administrative tasks as needed:

  • Human Resources/Front Office Reception
  • Assisting with front office coordination by providing coverage to the Front Office Coordinator for lunch breaks and days they may be absent.
  • Answering the phones, directing calls appropriately, and taking messages as needed.
  • Assisting visitors, including monitoring the visitor log and issuing color coded visitor badges.
  • Accepting deliveries made to the front door, contacting recipients for their collection, and ensuring outgoing mail is placed where it should be for respective pickups.
  • Finance & Accounting
  • Assisting with the physical and digital filing of documents including scanning physical documents and organizing them appropriately in the appropriate software.
  • Client Services
  • Assisting the Account Management team with administrative duties on key accounts. These duties may include data entry, product packaging, and shipping.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands described here are representatives of those needed to successfully perform the essential functions for this job. While performing the duties of this job the team member is regularly required to talk or hear. Ability to perform sedentary work which involves sitting for extended period of the time but may also involve walking or standing for brief period of time. The team member is frequently required to use hands to type, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. Visual acuity (with correction). The team member is occasionally required to stoop, kneel and crouch and carry light items such as papers, book and small parts, etc.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation. On occasion team member may be exposed to the Production Plant where there is a preponderance of moving mechanical parts, high noise levels, and paint and chemical odors. Team member will exercise good judgement and adhere to all OSHA safety regulations when entering these areas.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

All prospective team members must pass a criminal background check and drug test. Candidates 

must also meet the requirements for an I-9, e-Verify.
