G1 Therapeutics, Inc. is Hiring a Manager, Project Management Near Research Triangle Park, NC

The Opportunity:

G1 Therapeutics is currently recruiting a Manager, Project Management to join our team in Research Triangle Park, NC (our HQ is operating on a hybrid in-office/remote model), reporting to Senior Director, Project Management.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with the asset leader and operational teams, translate strategic goals to operational plans. Implement and oversee operational delivery at both project and asset levels. 
  • Develop and manage scope and timelines for assigned projects with input from other functional department leaders.
  • Work closely with functional area leads and their delegates to ensure operational activities are aligned with and on-track to achieve organizational goals.
  • Lead and oversee risk management analysis and mitigation planning efforts.
  • Provide regular reporting to Project Management and Operational Leadership on project status and planning.
  • Engage with the Project Management department in defining, developing, implementing, and improving application of project management methodologies, processes, and tools.
  • Work closely with Finance to forecast project spends and maintain financial oversight of assigned projects, including routine reporting on financial health and metrics.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain project management planning documents within the Project Management Information System (PMIS).
  • Work with Product Development Outsourcing (PDO) department to manage external vendor relationships and ensure efficient execution for contracted deliverables.
  • Develop robust formal and informal communication networks with key internal stakeholders to gather and disseminate critical development information.  
  • Represent the Project Management department in cross-functional forums.
  • Work closely with pre-clinical and clinical teams for updates regarding study milestones. 
  • Other duties as assigned by Project Management and Operational Leadership.

Requirements:

  • 8 years with BA/BS degree in a related discipline, or 6 years of experience with a relevant advanced degree.
  • A strong foundation in pharmaceutical development project management, preferably with related experience in either a biotech and/or CRO environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of oncology-specific development experience.  
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating or managing cross-functional teams and use of Project Management tools and technologies.
  • Understanding of the roles and responsibilities of key functions in clinical development, and experience (project management, clinical operations, biometrics, clinical development, technical operations, regulatory operations, etc.).
  • Candidate should have broad knowledge of pharmaceutical development across the entire development lifecycle.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, organizational and planning skills are required, with a proven ability to manage budgets. 
  • The candidate should be detail-oriented, a self- starter and be comfortable with broad responsibilities in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, small company environment. 

Preferred Skills:

The below skillsets are valued, but not explicitly required for a new employee in this role

  • Experience in alliance management.
  • A demonstrated background in developing, implementing, and managing outsourcing strategies.
  • Training or certification in project management methodology (e.g., CAPM, PMP)
  • Prior experience with registration of oncology products a plus.
