Position Summary G&J Pepsi-Cola is looking for a Staff Accountant who will report directly to the Controller. This position will have an active role in the financial close process, working with stakeholders to prepare entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, prepare and file tax returns, and research financial results. The ideal candidate demonstrates proficiency in accounting principles, is highly motivated, and demonstrates a high degree of integrity. Essential FunctionsPrepare journal entries for period closeReview general ledger accounts for accuracy and GAAP compliancePrepare reconciliations for balance sheet reviewsInspect general ledger balances for accuracyPrepare and file tax returns (Sales/Use)Adheres to all company policies, standards and procedures (e.g. OSHA and safety requirements, Federal/State /Local Laws)Communicates with customers and other employees regarding requests for information; supervisor and management team regarding any problems or issuesMaintains confidentiality of customer information, financial information and other sensitive and confidential informationWorks assigned schedule, exhibits regular and predictable attendance and works overtime as needed to meet workload demands. Performs other related duties as required Education Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required; advanced degree or certification a plus (CPA, MBA) Experience An ideal candidate would have 3-5 years of experience in the accounting professionCandidate should have experience preparing and filing basic tax returns (Sales/Use/CAT) Other Requirements Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.Advanced knowledge of Excel functions, such as VLOOKUP and IF statements required.Advanced knowledge of Excel Pivot Tables required; ability to manipulate and analyze data.Knowledge of Blackline product suite is a plus.Knowledge of D365 FinOps is a plus.
