G & B Electric, Inc is Hiring an Office Assistant Near Ferndale, MI

Job Description:

G&B Electric, Inc. is looking for a multifaceted individual to fit into our Office Assistant position. Located in Ferndale, this is an in-office, full-time position. This individual will work directly with the Human Resources and Finance department while performing a range of administrative tasks to support the daily operations. The ideal candidate will have great organization and communication skills, and will have some HR knowledge, or has the willingness to learn. This position offers the opportunity for upward mobility, and the right candidate will have to desire to advance in the position.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Answering and directing phone calls
  • Receiving deliveries
  • Copying, scanning, faxing, and printing
  • Ordering office supplies as needed
  • Frequently driving to locations within a 40-mile radius (paid for mileage)
  • Filing electronic and physical files
  • Pulling and filing invoices
  • Maintaining and updating records
  • Regularly performing audits to ensure accurate record keeping
  • Accurately tracking employee hours
  • Effectively communicating with employees, including relaying policies and regulations, answering employee questions, and communicating with foreman regarding employee hours.
  • Acting as a reliable source for information to employees
  • Assisting with tracking of employee expenses and credit card payments
  • Assisting in payroll operations, including processing payroll
  • Viewing and maintaining confidential information
  • Helping to plan and organize company events including company functions and training events
  • Ability to assist in tasks related to organizing out of state jobs, including reaching out to machine rental facilities, finding long-term accommodations, etc.
  • Support in onboarding process of new hires as needed

Skills and Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree a plus.
  • Strong communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Knowledge in HR or willingness to learn
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to maintain confidential information with professionalism

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
