Job Summary:
This role will provide superior constituent centered service to students, parents, faculty, staff, and the public for Enrollment Services in line with the mission of the university while protecting student privacy. This role will specifically ensure operational efficiency for student employment, as well as Cultural Life Program (CLP) logistics, America Reads/America Counts support, and general management of student workers.
Job Description:
Responsibilities:
  • Primarily responsible for multimodal coordination of operations within Enrollment Services.
  • Provides in-person support for student employment operations.
  • Regularly updates individual student records related to non-academic requirements for student employment, CLPs, and Federal Work Study.
  • Responsible for hiring, supervising, training, and scheduling all student staff.
  • Processes student employment documents, including E-Verify procedures in a timely manner.
  • Reviews all student hire requests. Assists Furman students, faculty, staff, and contingent workers with hiring process.
  • Updates and maintains all documentation, both instructional and record-keeping, for student employment, CLPs, and America Reads/America Counts. This includes the external, public-facing website, as well as internal staff resources.
  • Completes Verification of Employment (VOE) requests within two business days.
  • Documents Enrollment Services procedures.
  • Describes policy and logic that informs procedures to ensure common understanding, writes detailed instructions about how to perform tasks that can be used to train others, updates service scripts explaining how to respond to commonly asked questions.
  • Escalates concerns as appropriate to solve problems in all functional areas.
  • Fully understands and appropriately applies Furman's student information release policies and standards, strictly adhering to FERPA, Department of Education, and Fair Labor and Standards Act regulations.
  • Follows safety procedures.
  • Completes performance review process with supervisor to understand job performance expectations and fit with department and university goals.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to ensure smooth flow of operations.
Relationships:
Works with co-workers, faculty, staff, students, parents and the public to exchange factual information and explain rules, regulations, and practices.
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for own work. May assist or guide others doing similar work; including student workers.
  • Tasks involve multiple procedures with interrelated processes or steps. Work involves choosing the appropriate option or procedure to follow and applying established rules and procedures.
  • Errors are readily detected in the normal course of work by standard check or crosscheck.
Reports To: Associate Director of Enrollment Services; work is performed independently on routine work, non-routine issues or questions are referred to the supervisor.
Required Education, Skills and Training:
  • Associate degree or higher with experience in administration or customer service. Experience in a high traffic environment is a plus.
  • Friendly, engaging and excited to help any and all members of the university community.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Significant computer background including experience with relational databases.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills, including clear and concise writing.
  • Ability to adapt and respond positively to an ever-changing work place.
Work Conditions:
Work is performed under usual office conditions. This position requires in-person office presence.
