Full Circle is seeking an energetic and competent individual to join the materials engineering and analytical test services group headquartered in San Antonio, Texas. This role requires people that specialize in predicting, preventing, and mitigating hazards from explosions, fires, and toxic releases. Qualified candidates must be well versed in providing materials engineering and test services, process safety and risk management services to companies in the petroleum and chemical industries, as well as engineering and testing services for government agencies and private companies involved with hazardous materials.
Candidates for the position should possess at least a BS in metallurgical engineering or mechanical engineering with a materials emphasis. An advanced degree and experiencein the petroleum and chemical industries are preferred. The candidate should be a Professional Engineer, who can provide expert testimony. The candidate should have from 10 to 20 years of engineering experience in performing failure investigations and have strong investigative and communication skills. The candidate should also have experience writing and winning proposals and managing projects.
The candidate should be familiar with standard metallurgical lab equipment, polishing practices, optical and scanning electron microscopes, material testing and inspection techniques. Candidates should have good verbal and written communication skills that will be used when interacting with technical personnel, government agencies, and managers.
Key responsibilities shall include performing failure analysis, fitness-for-service life assessments, risk evaluations, participating in on-site accident and incident investigations of industrial locations, initiating promotional activities, overseeing and performing laboratory testing as needed, conducting research and development, writing and presenting findings from investigations and providing legal and consulting services when needed. The individual should have experience working with various metal alloy systems, polymeric materials, and coatings. In addition, the candidate should be familiar with industrial equipment including piping, pressure vessels, rotating and fixed equipment.
