Responsibilities:
- Provide patient care by assisting providers in examination rooms
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
- Electronic scribing and recording of patient information
- Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers
- Perform medical administrative support tasks such as scheduling appointments, maintaining electronic medical records, and prior authorizations
- Ensure a clean and organized clinical environment
- Provide excellent patient service and address patient concerns or questions
Skills:
- Proficient in performing patient care duties, including taking patient background information, collecting specimens, and assisting with procedures
- Knowledge of medical administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, maintaining electronic medical records, and MIPS documentation
- Ability to administer medications and injections accurately and safely
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology preferred
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a medical assistant training program or certification from an accredited institution preferred but not required
- Previous experience working as a medical assistant preferred but not required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
