Title: Mechanical Technician
Duration: 1 year with possible extension
Location: Redmond, WA
Benefits: Employee benefits at 100% including Medical, PTO, Holiday Pay, 401K Plan and much more!
Hours: Minimum 40 Hours/Week 

Must be onsite and proof of vaccination is required.

The Candidate:
- Build, test, and repair devices under the direction of engineering staff. 
- Help engineers design, test, and manufacture consumer products, test fixtures, and other equipment.

Role:
- Work with product development and sustaining engineering teams to assemble, test, and validate new product designs.
- Assemble engineering prototype devices in low/medium quantity. Devices include complex mechanical, electrical, and optical assemblies.
- Document and maintain prototype parts inventory.
- Perform prototype device sustaining activities, including repairs, maintenance, updates, and workflow management.
- Design, fabricate, and assemble fixtures and other tooling for experiments and prototype assembly/test.
- Perform laboratory experiments and document results.
- Organize and maintain an engineering lab to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient workspace.
- Perform DFM/DFA reviews and documentation of feedback.

Skills:
- Relevant vocational training or 5 years of experience working in an equivalent role.
- Hands-on mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly experience. Optical and ESD component assembly and handling experience preferred.
- Experience with hand tools (drivers, drills, files, taps) and assembling of devices.
- Experience with high accuracy measuring devices (micrometer, dial indicator, laser, etc.).
- Experience with operating reliability test equipment (such as thermal chambers) and working with reliability engineers for planning, execution, and data collection.
- Basic troubleshooting skills.
- Able to work in a self-directed, hands-on manner with minimal direct supervision. Past experience working in production and/or service support environments preferred.
- Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Read 2D engineering drawings; knowledge of 3D geometry and 2D drafting experience preferred (e.g. NX).
- Proficient with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Top Skills:
- Hands-on mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly experience.
- Experience with hand tools (drivers, drills, files, taps) and assembling of devices.
