Position Summary:
The Driver will pick up and drop off items while adhering to assigned routes and time schedules. The driver will ensure orders are properly fulfilled, be committed to work safety, and passionate about the customer experience. Additionally, the driver verifies and keeps records on outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment while performing the following duties to quality and productivity standards.

• Job Type: Full Time
• Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday 6am-2:30pm and overtime as needed
• Rate of Pay: $17.50/hr

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Loading, transporting, and delivering items to customers or businesses in a safe, timely manner
• Reviewing orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete, the charges are correct, and the customer is satisfied
• Assisting with loading and unloading items from trucks.
• Providing excellent customer service, answering questions, and handling complaints from clients
• Adhering to assigned routes and following time schedules
• Abiding by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record
• Preparing reports and other documents relating to deliveries
• Operating equipment and machines, such as cars, trucks, forklifts, manual trucks, etc
• Willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws
• Strong time management and customer service skills
• Ability to walk, drive, and lift and carry heavy items for extended periods
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or relocate orders to a holding area for shipment
• Prepare parcels for shipment
• Assist in counting of physical inventory
• Supports the shipment of goods produced and the received goods and supplies to be used in or to aid in the production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base
• Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
• Maintains warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times. Sweep, dust and mop
• Attention to detail

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:

• Ability to safely perform duties common to the position
• Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment
• Ability to work without immediate supervision
• Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc
• Ability to understand and comply with written and verbal instructions and give understandable information in verbal and written form
• Ability to work with others
• Ability to operate a forklift while sitting or standing, both indoors and outside
• Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math

Qualifications:

• Minimum of a high school education some experience in shipping and receiving
• Valid driver's license issued by the state where you intend to work
• Ability to pass DOT physical test
• Drug Test Required
• Clean driving record
• Experience preferred

Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Working Environment:

• This position works in a warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday.
• Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
• Uses standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters, tape dispensers and fork lifts.
• Noise level is usually moderate.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
