Fresenius Medical Care is Hiring a SVP Operations Near Wilmington, DE

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Supports FMCNA’s mission, vision, core values and customer service philosophy. Adheres to the FMCNA Compliance Program, including following all regulatory and FMS policy requirements.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directs the growth and profitability of the Division Group through strategic planning, effective leadership and decisive management ensuring Divisional strategies, goals and objectives are in alignment with those of Fresenius Medical Services and FMCNA. 
  • Develops a strategic plan to advance the company mission and objectives to promote revenue, profitability and growth. Implements and executes plans as appropriate.
  • Responsible for the overall direction of the assigned divisions business, interprets and translates the FMC global vision and FMCNA mission into division action plans. Directs the development of short- and long-range objectives, policies, budgets, & operating plans and programs for the division and when approved, oversees the consistent interpretation, implementation and achievement of said goals to ensure plans and programs meet the current and future needs of the company.
  • Responsible for all aspects of customer service, management of quality patient care, the marketing of services and disciplined fiscal administration.
  • Responsible for achieving maximum return on invested capital. Directs and coordinates the divisional financial and budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments and increase efficiency.
  • Approves, revises and implements overall corporate growth strategies and personnel activities, including collaboration on all clinic loss mitigation activities.
  • Responsible for the operational organization and management of the assigned FMS geography.
  • Oversees the Group operations through oversight, direction and development of the Group Vice President of Operations to ensure efficiency and quality of services provided, and cost-effective management of resources.
  • Responsible for leading and conducting regular business and quality review meetings at the Divisional, Group and Corporate level and with these respective audiences. 
  • Responsible for the growth and cost efficiency of the Group consistent with annual goals and targets.
  • Oversees and directs the Vice President of Strategic Development and collaborates with divisional and corporate Business Development and Sales and Account managers to develop and review the Group strategic plan, and subsequent goals and objectives and their achievement.
  • Identifies and oversees research of Joint Venture and merger and acquisition opportunities and directs activities as appropriate.
  • Represents the division to its customers, the financial community and the general public. Develops strong relationships with physician practices within the division and facilitates the establishment of strong relationships between medical directors and physicians and the divisional Group VPOs and RVPs.
  • Provides direction and oversight to the divisional support functions such as Quality, Education and Finance.
  • Drives FMS quality standards by ensuring all ESRD related regulatory requirements are met through the practice of continuous quality improvement and the implementation of the appropriate quality goals and action plans.
  • Practices risk management strategies to reduce company and division exposure to litigation and other legal issues.
  • Takes the appropriate actions to ensure compliance with all regulatory and company requirements with regard to all aspects of the division including operations, provision of services, finance, physician relationships, quality and personnel management.
  • Ensures and promotes the development of the Division Management team/Succession planning through coaching, training and leadership development; Identifies and develops a successor(s).
  • Collaborates with the appropriate Corporate and local groups to ensure the growth of all modalities and Ancillary Services.
  • Ensures a strong and vibrant communications process between all managers and staff within the division by leading communications sessions and meetings with managers and ensuring the appropriate dissemination of communications to direct patient care and support staff within the division.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION:

  • May be responsible for the direct supervision of various levels of operations and strategic development staff.

EDUCATION AND REQUIRED CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting required; Advanced Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting preferred

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience internal senior management level role (e.g., Vice President); or 5 years’ external experience in a senior management level role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing one or more departments.
  • Strong management skills with the ability to lead cohesive and productive teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of management through diplomacy and tact.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
