STAFF ACCOUNTANT

Fremont Brewing is hiring a Full-Time Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant is responsible for handling day-to-day record-keeping (A/P, A/R,) and assisting with month-end close. The ideal candidate should possess intermediate-level accounting skills, a solid understanding of GAAP, and a natural tendency toward organization with attention to detail.

Job Responsibilities & Expectations

• Daily entry of key financial data (invoicing, accounts payable, cash application)
  • Entering of assigned payables into accounting software; 3-way match for PO items.
  • Overall responsibility for the entire A/P function
  • Set up new vendors and coordinates subsequent payments
  • Process invoices and credit memos for customers
  • Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on aging accounts
• Manage employee expense reporting process and company credit card imports
• Petty Cash and Employee Reimbursements
• Deposit checks and apply payments
• Monitor Beer Garden deposits and reconciliations, record daily sales
• Supports accounting team with month end close, including accruals and account reconciliations
• Basic office tasks (answering phones, email response, process mail)

• Other similar or related duties as required

Required Skills/Experience

• College coursework through Intermediate Accounting and Cost Accounting
• 2 years’ experience of heavy accounts payable and G/L reconciliation
• Proficiency with ERP software
• Proficiency with expense reporting software, Expensify or similar
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables
• High capacity for learning and adapting to changing technology
• Highly ethical
• Enjoys working in a team environment
• Appreciation for dad jokes because it’s accrual world.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time (8-10 hours)
• Routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, etc.
• See details of objects that are less than a few feet away
