Job Summary

Reporting directly to the Retail Store Manager to assist customers in finding and purchasing the required merchandise in a retail environment while encouraging customers to purchase products.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Greet customers and make certain of their wants/needs
• Maintain knowledge of current sales, promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges, and security practices
• Handling money responsibly – use of cash registers, counting money, balancing cash drawers, separating charge slips, coupons, and vouchers, and making deposits
• Perform price/product lookups
• Zone merchandise
• Maintain the cleanliness/neatness of the store for presentation

Additional Responsibilities:

• Required to learn company policies and procedures
• Watch for/recognize security risks and thefts, and know how to prevent or handle these situations
• Housekeeping duties
• Unloading merchandise from truck
• Any other duties assigned by your supervisor

Qualifications:

• Some retail and/or customer service-related experience
• Strong Communication Skills
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Responsibility – maintaining a pleasant working environment while providing excellent customer service, even during complications and/or conflicts
