Franklin High School is Hiring a HIGH SCHOOL ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL Near Franklin, MA

Qualifications:-Current MA DESE License for School Principal/Assistant Principal (9-12) -Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) Teacher or Administrator Endorsement-Master’s Degree in Education required-At least three years teaching experience required-Previous supervisory experience preferred ReportingRelationships:The Assistant Principal directly reports to the School Principal. General Responsibilities:Works to provide and maintain effective communication, promotes a sense of belonging for students and staff, plans and facilitates professional learning, and is responsible for management and operations of the school.Performance Responsibilities:Instructional Leadership:-Support Multi Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) through professional development, data analysis, collaborating with teachers-Demonstrates an ability to promote a collaborative and reflective professional community that is focused on student and adult learning-Knowledge of, concern for, and success in working with students of varying needs, talents, and abilities-Assists in the in-service orientation and training of teachers, with special responsibility for staff administrative procedures and instructions-Visits classrooms, observes and evaluates and counsels all staff members regarding their individual and group performance-Assists in the development, revision, and evaluation of the curriculum-Acts as consultant, resource, and/or mentor to faculty in areas of responsibility-Stay abreast of research-based best practices in related fieldsManagement and Operations:-Strong organizational, planning, and technological skill-Assumes responsibility for the safety and administration of the school, along with building principal -Supervises fire drills, lock down drills, and an emergency preparedness program-Provides for adequate inventories of school property and for the security and accountability for that property-Assists in the recruiting, screening, hiring, training, assigning, and evaluating of the school’s staff-Assists with scheduling classes within established guidelines to meet student needs-Assists in planning, organizing, and directing the implementation of school activities-Keeps supervisor informed of events and activities of an unusual nature as well as routine matters related to the supervisor’s accountability-Maintains and controls the various funds generated by student activities-Supervises the maintenance of accurate records on the progress and attendance of students and provides various reports, as needed-Support the budget process-Understanding of applicable local, state, and federal education laws, regulations, policies, and requirements.Family and Community Engagement:-Maintains active relationships with students and parents-Attends special events held to recognize student achievement, and attends school-sponsored activities, functions, and athletic events, as requested-Makes arrangements for special conferences between parents and teachersProfessional Culture:-Demonstrates success in communicating effectively and constructively with students, colleagues, and parents in the development and delivery of child-centered instruction.-Establishes guides for proper student conduct and maintaining appropriate student discipline and accountability-Maintains high standards of student conduct and enforces discipline as necessary, according to due process rights of students-Serve as an ex officio member of all committees and councils within the school-Serves as a member of such committees and attends such meetings as directed by the principal-Other related duties as assigned by the Principal or his/her designeeTerms of Employment:Full year position.
