FrankCrum Staffing is Hiring a Fleet Maintenance Tech Near Mulberry, FL

Fleet Maintenance Technician

To inspect, plan, organize and schedule the maintenance, service and repair of the company’s motorized and support equipment which includes all trucks and trailers, forklifts, bobcats, gators, generators, power augers and other small engine equipment.

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following :

  • Inspects vehicles and equipment and creates work orders based on required maintenance and repairs.
  • Maintains Fleet Maintenance Pro data daily by updating maintenance required, scheduled and performed along with the required input of information, parts and invoices provided.
  • Reviews daily pre-trip inspections from crew, verifies and documents deficiencies reported, records mileage and creates work orders for repairs to provide to applicable vendor performing the repair.
  • Performs routine and simple maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Receives and inputs mileage from outside sales and coordinates for the required scheduled maintenance as indicated by the Fleet Maintenance Pro application for services due.
  • Creates purchase orders for approved maintenance and repairs.
  • Advises operations manager of status of equipment where repair costs and time affect long term use.
  • Observes and enforces safety regulations; prepares reports on equipment utilization and status of projects; attends meeting and training sessions;

processes the approved purchase of supplies and parts.

Ability To :

  • Plan and assign the work of equipment to the appropriate vendor.
  • Develop a comprehensive equipment maintenance program.
  • Diagnose defects and repair a wide variety of heavy automotive equipment.
  • Develop and review equipment specifications.
  • Maintain records and reports using Fleet Maintenance Pro software or similar computer application.
  • Establish and maintain vendors for various different types of equipment along with negotiating maintenance contracts.

EXPERIENCE

Five years of experience as an automotive or equipment mechanic, including at least two years of fleet maintenance or automotive service advisor experience.

LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE

Possession of an appropriate, valid Florida Driver's License at the time of appointment, to be maintained as a condition of continued employment.

Possession of ASE Certifications in Brakes, Manual Drive Train and Axles, Suspension and Steering, Heating and Air Conditioning, Electrical / Electronic Systems, Engine Performance, and Engine Repair, preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Maintain the following physical abilities : see well enough to read, write and make observations, operate hand and power tools, vehicles and heavy equipment;
  • hear well enough to converse on the radio, telephone and in person; bodily mobility to walk, bend, stand, crouch or climb for extended periods of time, operate assigned equipment and vehicles and perform heavy manual labor for extended periods;

ability to tolerate extreme fluctuations in temperature while performing essential functions and be able to lift equipment as necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

Knowledge Of :

  • Methods, practices, material and tools of the equipment mechanic trade.
  • Operating and repair characteristics of a variety of heavy automotive and small engine equipment.
  • Occupational hazards and standard safety precautions necessary in the work place.
  • Equipment purchasing and acquisition practices and methods.
  • Principles of gasoline and diesel engines.
  • Equipment maintenance record keeping systems.
