WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Medical materials management starts with many of the skills that any inventory specialist might need: the ability to inspect shipments for accuracy, experience maintaining inventory and processing paperwork, knowledge of how to stock, pick, and pack. In our hospitals, we need these steps with an extra attention to detail – after all, the equipment you’re inspecting and handling might be used to save someone’s life.
Do you have experience with Materials Management Inventory Systems (MMIS) software? Are you detail-oriented and able to receive, process, and deliver accurately? Can you give good instruction and work well with others? We have a great opportunity for you.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Receive and deliver needed supplies in a timely manner.
Count and inspect items for accuracy and damage.
Release, stock issue, pick, and pack requisitions.
Ability to operate necessary pallet jack or other supply transport equipment.
Inventory maintenance: cycle counts, stock rotation, reports shortages/overages.
Data entry into Inventory management system and other hospital systems.
Process necessary paperwork for returns and coordinating outgoing shipments.
Responsible for keeping storage areas neat, clean and in accordance with department policy.
Deliver, process, and clean moveable medical equipment when needed.
WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED
Prior storeroom and inventory supply systems experience.
Familiar with inventory control and use with various software applications.
Handle job related situations with outside entities, trucking companies, UPS, FedEx etc.
Use appropriate mathematical formulas and techniques to solve problems.
Customer service skills.
Data entry.
Follow directions as communicated in a variety of ways.
Knowledge of inventory management systems.
Handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
Effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
