Primary Function of Position: : Responsible for planning, developing, and implementing a bold presence on social media for Francis Tuttle Technology Center (FTTC), for the key purposes of recruiting students and clients, raising awareness, building our brand, fostering a sense of community with key events and announcements, improving our online presence, and driving traffic to our website. The Social Media Strategist takes a proactive, hands-on, innovative approach to their work, embraces the career and technology education space, and loves seeing their work have a direct, quantifiable, and positive impact on our visibility and brand.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Social Media Strategy – Plan, document, and execute an annual overarching social media strategy aligned with the Marketing department's strategic goals and Francis Tuttle's District Goals. Implement campaign-based strategies. Develop comprehensive promotion plans for both FTTC institutional-level channels and program and/or division-level channels. Research topics that support communication of the Francis Tuttle Mission and Vision.
  • Manage Social Media Channels - Create, monitor, and manage the district's social network, including but not limited to postings on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, LinkedIn, TikTok, and additional channels that may be relevant. Manage Social Media Content- Create solid content that aligns with target audiences' demands and social trends. When necessary, collaborate with Content Developers to determine work products needed for campaigns and support social media initiatives.
  • Build a Community-Build an FTTC social community that is responsive and loyal to the brand. Utilize tactics that connect with the FTTC audience and establish relationships that go beyond likes and shares. Act as a customer service specialist to our core audience by responding to inquiries, engaging with comments, and escalating feedback to the appropriate department.
  • Be a trendsetter-Social media is fast-paced and ever-changing, be willing to try out new tools and take risks to be on the cutting edge. Early adoption of new trends and technology is imperative.
  • Live Events – Lead social media contributions in posting during events and activities, e.g., student completion ceremonies.
  • Analyze and Refine - Continuously track, measure, and analyze data, reporting on a real-time, monthly, and academic-year basis to refine priorities and drive results in terms of website traffic, social media likes, followers, and mentions. Utilize KPIs such as web traffic, impressions, brand mentions, followers, and engagements to establish the success of posts and campaigns.
  • Sets annual benchmarks as part of goal setting. Monitor and track key competitors and industry-related profiles to help identify trends and inform strategy.
  • Training - Oversees onboarding and training process of new team members across the district who will be managing social media for division, program, or departmental accounts. Develop social media resources, digital style guide, and lead ongoing training to keep key social media producers up-to-date on key social media trends, updates, strategies, and overall FTTC branding.
  • Paid Social - Develop and implement paid social media strategies to improve performance and increase engagement.
  • Ability to be present on the job as described under working conditions and contract details.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing or a related field.
Three (3) to five (5) years' experience developing and managing complex social media programs.
Excellent knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Snap Chat, and Tik Tok.
Strategic mindset to establish, benchmark, refine, and report on Key Performance Indicators.
Strong ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights using Google Analytics, Meltwater, and other social media tools.
Working knowledge of Search Engine Optimization.
Experience using social media as part of an inbound content marketing effort.
Ability to identify target audience preferences and produce content accordingly.
Experience with paid social opportunities and management.
Should possess creative and analytical skills.
Ability to create multimedia content, including audio, video, and photography.
Excellent writer with impeccable judgment and strong storytelling sense.
Familiarity with AP Style.
Ability to foster positive relationships with colleagues, faculty, and staff.
Strong interest in emerging technologies and the new media landscape.
Knowledgeable of best practices and trends in social media marketing and how to build and convert a digital audience.
Passion for mastery of digital marketing tools, technology, and social media as a platform for marketing, public relations, and brand-building.
Ability to consistently deliver superior customer service and high-quality work to internal and external customers.
Ability and desire to maintain/manage an efficient, well-organized office area.
Ability to focus on day to day social media activities but also think long term and strategically.

Working Conditions: Long periods of sitting and standing. Ability to lift 10-25 lbs. Low-level machine noise is encountered the majority of every day. Concentrated visual effort is required. Extensive communication with internal and external customers. Reliable, dependable and punctual attendance. This is not an exhaustive list and reasonable accommodations will be made as needed.

Organizational Relationship: Full-time, exempt personnel position reports directly to the Director of Marketing and Communications.

Contract Details: Twelve month contract subject to annual renewal. Working days and hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Francis Tuttle offers a comprehensive benefit package for full-time employment to include paid health and dental insurance and 100% contribution into the Oklahoma Teachers Retirement System.
