DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate and manage the import process for air shipments from origin to destination
- Ensure all necessary documentation is completed accurately and submitted to customs authorities in a timely manner
- Communicate with clients, airlines, and other stakeholders to provide updates on shipment status and resolve any issues that may arise
- Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery and proactively address any delays or disruptions
- Maintain a thorough understanding of customs regulations and tariffs to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
- Work closely with the sales team to provide pricing and quotes for air import services
- Assist in the training and development of junior staff members in air import operations
EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in air import operations at a freight forwarding company
- Strong understanding of customs regulations and import procedures
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications
- Experience with industry-specific software such as CargoWise is a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully in accordance with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance in accordance with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.
