Foxhound Bee Company started in 2004 and focuses on teaching and equipping aspiring and current beekeepers. We are known for our high-quality beekeeping supplies, but also hold classes and open hive demonstrations for customers throughout the year to educate customers about honeybees.

Our store in Downtown Birmingham will be open to serve our local customers and our customers who drive in from out of town. We will also be holding special events and classes to support those interested in honeybees and beekeeping.

Foxhound Bee Company is a small company with a small staff that works hard to get the job done. We are easy to work with and love to help each other out. We all have our different strengths and we are excited to add another person to our team to get the job done.

This position is perfect for the person with a flexible schedule that is able to commit to 15-30 hours a week and is interesting in honeybees, wildlife, and nature. This position focuses on warehouse responsibilities, including moving inventory, counting inventory, assembling equipment with pneumatic tools, painting, and other tasks related to stocking and inventory.

If you like getting your hands dirty and enjoy building equipment, then this is the position for you. We are constantly assembling and building equipment for customers and are in need of good help with experience with tools such as staple guns, speed squares, air compressors and paint rollers.

The spring and summer are our busiest times at Foxhound Bee Company, so these are the months you can have the most hours. During the fall and winter, we are slower and the hours required will not be as high as in the spring. This is considered a seasonal position.

If you are a student at UAB, Samford, Birmingham Southern or Jeff state, this may be a good fit for you.
Production responsibilities:

• Building wooden boxes and frames using pneumatic staple guns and glue.
• Priming and painting wooden equipment efficiently and cleanly.
• Assembling and cutting wood as necessary to build supplies
• Counting and reporting accurate inventory levels to keep stock full.

Picking and Packing:

• Foxhound Bee Company ships all over the world to retail and wholesale customers, so picking orders and packing them into boxes for shipping is a daily responsibility.
• Picking accurate orders for local customers to pick up and load vehicles if needed.
• Taking deliveries from shippers and adding to inventory system as needed.
• Working with shipping software to print labels and schedule pickups from carriers.

A thorough understanding of bees is not necessary for this job, but it would be great if you are a beekeeper!
