Four Queens Hotel and Casino is Hiring an Accounting-Bookkeeper Near Las Vegas, NV
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Responsible for processing accounts payable, preparing journal entries and preparation of monthly financial statements for a local gaming/bar operation. Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills are essential.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of accounting, auditing, or compliance experience
- An associate degree in accounting or business preferred.
- Prepare financial statements, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Support month-end and year-end close.
- Monitor and report daily bank activities to management.
- Maintain, reconcile, & track capital projects and fixed asset schedules on a monthly basis.
- Prepare local, state, & federal tax/informational returns.
- A thorough knowledge of accrual and cash basis accounting.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with co-workers, staff, and external contacts, and to work effectively in a professional team environment.
- Effective verbal and written communications, including active listening skills.
- Proficient with complex spreadsheets.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills; exercise good judgment and discretion in confidential matters and flexibility within a changing environment.
- Ability to be proactive, handle multiple responsibilities, and work with a team.
- Working knowledge of various software applications including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
- Experience with operational applications highly preferred: JDE, Stratton Warren, and Kronos.
- Gaming License
