We're a busy all-day cafe in Bushwick, Brooklyn with a positive, close-knit team and chill vibes. We're looking for a full-time line cook to join us in executing a concise, high-quality menu of sandwiches and salads.
The line cook position is an integral part of the food-service team, a piston in the engine of our kitchen. Reporting to the kitchen manager, the line cook is primarily responsible for preparing and executing recipes according to expectations of high quality and peak efficiency.
Much of this work will take the form of prep and grill duties duties, i.e. making customer sandwiches to order. Some additional duties will include placing simple fulfillment orders with vendors, portioning food for service, developing and executing ad-hoc recipes to mitigate waste, assisting other departments with assorted food prep and maintenance tasks, and more.
and the culinary skills to work cleanly, quickly, and safely. Finally, while the line cook is not generally a customer-facing position, s / he must meet all customer service interactions with warmth, positivity, and a desire to help.

Note, this is a daytime position. All shifts are scheduled for 8 hours, and you will earn overtime for any hours worked above 40 hours per week.
Shifts begin anytime between 8 : 30am and 11 : 30am.
Base hourly compensation begins at $17 / hr, but average net effective compensation (including bonuses, etc) is above $20 / hr for ALL employees.
