Forward Slash Technology is Hiring a Procurement Specialist Near St. Louis, MO

Forward Slash Technology is a St. Louis-based Information Technology, Managed Services provider.

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, energetic, successful individual that will perform a wide variety of duties to provide support to our clients. Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task are a must. Experience in information technology services is a plus, but not required.

Purpose

Responsible for ensuring FST acquires the needed supplies, materials, and other relevant items, following a strict budget and keeping records of all transactions.

The successful candidate is expected to have procurement, sourcing, contracting, and analytical experience including vendor administration & relationship management and conducting opportunity analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and award purchase orders and/or procurement contracts based on the interpretation of the demand maintaining and/or improving cost quality and delivery performance
  • Purchase goods and services that meet the quantity and quality expectations
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery
  • Responsible for the preparation and processing of POs and documents and the auditing of products/services received for accuracy in packing slip documentation for matching of PO data to supplier invoices
  • Coordinate with accounting department relative to accuracy of pricing data
  • Conduct follow-up on purchase orders past due with appropriate vendor
  • Assist in resolution of vendor issues from the client/account team to ensure the implementation of a high-quality long-term solution that meets stakeholder expectations
  • Negotiate and settle with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over shipments, cancellations and engineering changes
  • Track inventory and restock goods as needed
  • Source for new parts, suppliers or contractors when applicable
  • Compare available goods with industry trends to determine appropriate pricing
  • Analyzes material location and initiate redistribution actions
  • Identify supply chain alternatives to resolve obsolescence issues
  • Maintain vendor contacts, supply lists, and vendor discount programs
  • Maintain organized records and establish tracking programs for vendor documentation compliance

Qualifications

  • Self-motivated and work independently to find needed solutions
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical & presentation skills
  • Strong relationship management skills including ability to develop and communicate vendor processes and procedures
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and the flexibility to handle multiple competing priorities
  • Proficient with internal & external stakeholder/customer relationship management and effective communication with all levels of management
  • Knowledge of general office procedures and ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize complex detailed problems and make independent decisions required

Education/Experience

Required

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of experience in a purchasing environment
  • Strong Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of an ERP system

Preferred

  • 2-4 years’ experience in purchasing, manufacturing or warehouse environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred

  • Job will require lifting and moving of hardware and supplies

Specific Requirements

To maintain employment with our company, by mandate, each employee MUST complete and have the following.

  • Must be able to pass a MSHP/Federal fingerprint-based background check
  • Must complete training for and successfully complete a CJIS (Criminal Justice Information Systems) Security & Privacy Training Certification
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must have a valid US driver's license with a clean driving record
