Forgeis based in Columbus, Ohio, in a 200,000 square foot facility knownaffectionately by team membersas,the Hearth.The Hearth,is a custom-designed cGMP facility dedicated to AAV manufacturing and hosts scalable, end-to-end manufacturing services. 

About The Team

The Information Technology (IT) department plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all technology-related systems within the company. They are responsible for managing and maintaining the company's digital infrastructure, including servers, data centers, and cloud computing platforms. They are responsible for providing technical assistance, troubleshooting issues, and resolving problems related to hardware, software, and network connectivity. The department also ensures data security and privacy by implementing robust cybersecurity measures and protocols.

About The Role

The Vice President,Technology Servicesis a new position and willbe responsible foroverseeinginformation technologyand ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data across the organization.You will be empowered to drive the technology strategy and plans that define how technology should beutilizedto enable the company’s overall business strategy.Thisrole willserve as the company’s primary Data Integrity Officer, but will alsoleaddeveloping and implementing strategies, policies, and processes tomaintainhigh-quality data throughout its lifecycle.Thispersionwill work closely with cross-functional teams and departments,toestablishbest practices and promote ahigh-qualitydata-driven culture.

What You'll Do

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategythataligns with the company’s businessobjectives.
  • Work with Leadership to define the organization's data strategy, aligning it with businessobjectivesand requirements.
  • Build and lead a high performing IT team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Develop and manage the ITdepartment’sbudget, ensuring cost effectiveutilizationof resources while meeting the company’s technology needs. 

IT Infrastructure Management:

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust and secure IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks,serversand cloud services.
  • Identifyemerging technologies and opportunities for innovation to enhance productivity andmaintaina competitive advantage.

Data Governance & Management:

  • Define and implement datamanagement processes, datagovernance frameworks, policies, and standards to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Establish data quality metrics and monitoring mechanisms to measure and report on the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data.
  • Develop and enforce data classification and data access policies to protect sensitive data.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure the availability, scalability, and security of data infrastructure and systems.
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of data quality tools, data profiling, and data cleansing activities.
  • Identifyopportunities for data enrichment, data enrichment, and data analytics to drive business insights and decision-making.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with business units, data owners, and data custodians to understand data requirements, identify data quality issues, and implement data improvement initiatives and data projects.
  • Partner with IT teams to ensure data integrity and quality standards are incorporated into system development life cycles and data-related projects.
  • Educate and train employees on data integrity best practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends in health care, data science, and artificial intelligence, and apply this knowledge in daily work

Data Privacy & Compliance:

  • Stay up-to-date with data privacy regulations and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and ensure the organization's data practices align with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and monitor data access controls, data masking, and data anonymization techniques to protect sensitive and personally identifiable information.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degreeinComputer Science or Information Systemsor anequivalentbusiness degree.
  • Proven experience (typically 10 years) ininformationtechnology with a minimum of 5 years in data strategy and data management.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience leading diverse teams.
  • Ability to clearly articulatecomplexsystems and system strategies with team members to build support and understanding ofobjectives.
  • Deep knowledge of IT infrastructure, network architecture, and systems administration.
  • In-depth knowledge of data integrity, data quality, and data governance concepts and best practices.
  • Professional experience supporting both Apple MacOS and Microsoft Windows platforms.
  • Strong understanding of data management technologies, tools, and frameworks.
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability toexplain technical concepts to non-technical audiencesAbility tocollaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Skills

  • 10 years inGXPlife sciences or manufacturing industry.
  • Experience in implementing and managing data quality tools and data governance frameworks is highly desirable.
  • Professional certifications in data management and governance (e.g., CDMP, DGSP) are a plus.
  • Mastersor advanced degree in relevant field is preferred.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

This position works in a typical office environment where the physical work demands will vary depending on the specific tasks and duties required of the job. This islargely asedentary role; persons holding office positions aregenerally subjectto inside environmental conditions having the lighting, temperature, and noise of an open floor-plan office environment. Regularlyoperatea computer and other office equipment. Regularly communicate with others in person, over the phone, and electronically. Must be able to move and/or carry objects weighing up to 10 lbs.
