Business Banking provides deposit, credit and cash management services to companies with up to $20 million in annual revenue. This includes service to 2.5 million customers through about 2,000 Business Relationship Managers and 10,000 branch-based Small Business Specialists in 23 states. Overall, Chase serves 4 million small businesses through its Chase for Business brand, which is comprised of Business Banking, Chase Merchant Services and Ink credit cards.As a Consumer & Community Banking Control Manager at the Executive Director level within the Business Banking Division you will maintain a strong and consistent control environment through a joint accountability model that align managers with each line of business, function and region to mitigate operational risk. The team focuses on four areas: Risk Identification & Assessment, Control Design & Evaluation, Issue Management, and Control Governance & Reporting. The team focuses on four areas: Risk Identification & Assessment, Control Design & Evaluation, Issue Management, and Control Governance & Reporting.Job Responsibilities: Manage control-related activities, including risk event data occurrences, and new business initiatives and provide control related due diligence to business units to foster a proactive risk and control culture that leverages proven evaluation strategies and sound change management protocols Partner effectively with colleagues across the firm, business, operations management, legal, compliance, risk, audit, regulators, and technology control functions to maintain consistent and rigorous operational risk practices and Control programs including: control committees, risk mitigation, key risk indicators, control design and performance evaluation Help establish control governance and reporting to identify meaningful metrics to inform on the health of operational risk and control environment; escalate control gaps and weaknesses based on key reporting indicators; and manage control committees and forums Manage and motivate a team in executing to reduce financial loss, regulatory exposure, and reputational risk Provide ongoing feedback and training to develop employees on risk concepts and the application to risk and control evaluation Lead by example, with exemplary personal and professional attributes. Inspire confidence in all levels of staff as well as key partners from other functional areas and across Lines of BusinessRequired qualifications, capabilities, and skills: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required 10 years of financial services experience in controls, audit, quality assurance, risk management, or compliance preferred Experience leading broad cross-functional teams to analyze, design, and deliver best practices Demonstrate confident leadership and sound judgment to influence a strong culture and risk management Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) with the ability to develop compelling and meaningful executive presentations that will showcase opportunities/recommendation for improvementPreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills: Business knowledge - ability to understand the business/knowledge of regulation surrounding business Communication/presentation - excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to influence business leaders in a meaningful and actionable manner Process analysis/design acumen - ability to understand a process and associated risk to inform control design Problem solving/Analytical skills - solid critical thinking, attention to detail and analytical skills; able to synthesize large amounts of data and formulate appropriate conclusions
